Welcome to Operation Dress Up!
Thank you
to everyone who came out to our clothing drive on 1-23. Because of your
thoughtfulness and generosity,
we collected approximately 5,000 articles of clothing for Haiti Quake
Relief and M.E.N.D. (Meet Each Need with Dignity). If you'd like to
help the people of Haiti further, visit www.irelief.info.
Operation Dress Up! is a student-run organization that collects back-to-school clothing for homeless children in Los Angeles, of which there are approximately 13,000 identified in the Los Angeles Unified School District alone.
Operation Dress Up! was created by sisters, Megan and Phoebe, who read about the growing number of homeless students in Los Angeles due to the economic downturn. The girls established a year-round clothing drive, which allows other students to help as well. All donations are delivered to homeless shelters and organizations that work directly with homeless youth in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.
